3M launches free signage webinars

3M has announced the launch of its inaugural Lunchtime Learning Series of free webinars about traffic signage.

The technology company’s technical experts will share industry knowledge and offer advice through four quarterly webinars in 2017 which will be aimed at everyone from design engineers to road safety managers. Each webinar will be broadcast live online, allowing viewers to ask questions in real time.

The first will focus on sign specification. It will take place on 22 March, from 12.00 noon to 13.00, led by Andy Fish, technical service specialist at 3M Traffic Safety and Security division.

Andy will discuss: what makes an effective sign; key signing standards and why they are important; how retro-reflectivity works and the differences between materials; and hints and tips for specifying signs.

He said, “Clear and effective traffic signs are essential for the efficient operation of the road network, the enforcement of traffic regulations and for road safety.

“This webinar – the first in the series – will address some of the key areas to consider when specifying a traffic sign in the UK.

“I encourage everyone involved in sign specification, from design engineers to traffic consultants and road safety managers, to register online and share the information with colleagues.
