Buckinghamshire Council has announced a £100m investment as part of a major highways improvement programme over the next four years.
Under the programme, the council will be repairing the most damaged roads and pavements, while £4m will be spent on clearing and repairing the 85,000 gullies in the county to reduce the potential for road flooding.

An additional £3 million will also be spent on making improvements to a number of road surfaces across the county.
Buckinghamshire is responsible for the maintenance of 3,200km of carriageway and 2,400km of footways, 'all of which are frequently a hot topic for residents', the authority said.
It also highlighted that with direct links to London, Oxford and Milton Keynes, its roads are 'extraordinarily busy'.
Residents and members of the travelling public will be kept well informed about the roadworks in their area with new signage indicating when the authority is carrying out improvement works as part of the ‘Investing in your roads’ programme.
Cabinet member for transport, Steven Broadbent, said: 'I am delighted that such a significant and much needed investment is being made into our highways.
'I know that many residents have concerns about their local roads and I am sure that this news will be celebrated by many. I’m also impressed with the bold new signage, which is vital when it comes to keeping residents informed about the improvements happening in their area.
'I must urge that as work continues to improve our highways, residents continue to play their part by reporting defects on Fix My Street, where they can be picked up by our highways team.'
