The North West-based Local Council Roads Innovation Group (LCRIG) is hosting a dinner and workshop on 12 and 13 September at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.
The event;s focus is on supporting councils with their self-assessment requirements, as set by the Department for Transport (DfT) under the Incentive Fund system, and Steve Berry, head of highways maintenance at the DfT is the keynote speaker.
Appearing alongside him will be the editor of Highways, Dominic Browne, discussing the importance of communication in developing public policy.
Will Britain, chair of LCRIG and head of highways and traffic management services for Blackpool Council, said: ‘I am so pleased that having taken the bold step to establish this conference that the interest has been so positive, not just from the councils but from the supply chain, key organisations, associations and the media.

Currently, we have 155 confirmed delegates, which includes representatives from 56 councils.'
