Ennis-Flint helps restore Chester park

Ennis-Flint has helped with the restoration of Grosvenor Park in Chester.

Grosvenor Park received a £2.3 million grant from the Heritage Lottery Parks for People fund along with more than £1m from council coffers and £30,000 from WREN.

The restoration included the resurfacing of 14,000 square metres of footpaths. A whole host of new improvements have been completed over the course of a year including a new natural play area, restoration of the boundary walls, gates and heritage features including arches and statues, a new cafe and community rooms and improved signage and interpretation panels.

Ennis-Flint’s product Tyregrip, Staffordshire rose pink was applied by Coatech to resurface the paths through the entirety of the park, 14,000 square meters in total.

Cllr Stuart Parker, executive member for culture and economy at Cheshire West and Chester Council, said: “This programme of restoration will ensure that Grosvenor Park continues to occupy a special place in the of Chester residents and a wonderful attraction for its visitors.”
