The Road Safety Markings Association (RSMA) has announced that Rob Shearing will take over as CEO in May 2023 following the departure of Stu McInroy.
Mr Shearing is an executive leader and CEO with over 35 years of experience across a variety of sectors including local and national government, where he helped develop the National Citizen Service (NCS) for the Cabinet Office and the Department for Education.
He also has connections in finance, charity and the not-for-profit sectors, where he worked alongside leading brands including Standard Life, Barclays Bank, The Royal British Legion and Help 4 Heroes.
More recently, he was the CEO of a West Midlands Community Bank, where he completed a governance review and was an early adopter of the RACE equality code, which promotes diversity and a culture of inclusiveness across boards and senior leaders.
Mr Shearing said: 'I’m delighted to be joining the RSMA and working with partners, stakeholders, and colleagues to create safer roads for all. At a time of increased pressures for lower carbon emissions, a drive for a highly skilled diverse workforce and the move to the electrification of vehicles,
'I hope to build on the already recognised expertise of the RSMA to support its members.'
