The National Infrastructure and Service Transformation Authority (NISTA) has published its first interactive 10-year Infrastructure Pipeline digital portal.
This dynamic online tool provides downloadable information about the £530bn of planned infrastructure projects and programmes over the next 10 years, including £285bn funded solely by the public sector.
NISTA said it would provide real-time updates on the schemes, curently numbering 780, including details of anticipated spend, their current status and expected completion date, together with information on the Pipeline’s methodology and how it will evolve in future.
Building on data from 40 government departments, public bodies and regulated businesses, the clarity provided by the pipeline should help create 'good quality jobs and [the] supply chain capacity necessary to deliver the government’s infrastructure ambitions,' NISTA said.
Chief secretary to the Treasury Darren Jones MP said: 'Last month, I set out a comprehensive ten-year strategy to restore confidence in the UK’s capacity to provide the infrastructure we need to renew Britain.
'Delivering that ambition will require support from the private sector to invest in the jobs and training opportunities workers need to help us rebuild the country.
'This pipeline brings industry on that journey with us – by giving business leaders and investors confidence about future work and therefore the confidence to invest in their workforce.'
This first iteration of the pipeline reflects public spending plans as part of the recent Spending Review. The next update is planned for early 2026 and will add further details 'following the completion of business planning across government resulting from Spending Review decisions'.
NISTA stressed that the pipeline is not an announcement of new government policy or project investments - it is an update on the latest position on each project.
It comes as the government announced last month at least £725bn spending for the coming decade, as part of new approaches to how projects are planned and delivered.

'NISTA is committed to working with investors, operators and construction firms on future iterations to ensure the pipeline is where private and public sector partners will stand firmly behind a shared ambition to do things better.'
Marie-Claude Hemming, group policy director for the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE), said: 'ACE has long campaigned on the need for a visible and certain pipeline of work. And the government has delivered in spades.
'This is precisely the kind of clarity and long-term vision our industry needs. For too long, infrastructure planning in Britain has been plagued by short-termism, with skills and labour recruitment matching the peaks and troughs of government commitment to projects.
'Crucially it gives investors the confidence to invest in infrastructure and ACE Group members the incentivisation to invest in innovation, recruit and retain talent.'
