Highway Care has been acquired by Swedish outfit Ramudden Global for an undisclosed fee.
Highway Care said the move would strengthen its 'ability to expand product development and further innovate within the road safety and security sectors'.
Ramudden Global also owns traffic management services specialist Chevron, German traffic safety solutions provider AVS and temporary traffic management specialist Fero Group, a leading player in Belgium.
Ramudden Global is a network of companies operating in 12 countries, employing over 4,500 people with a turnover in 2023 of €750m (the equivalent of £624m today).

Known for pioneering safety technologies, Highway Care has been operating for nearly 50 years, offering a broad range of products including permanent and temporary road barriers, mobile traffic products, automation systems, and security solutions.
Highway Care’s solutions also extend to hostile vehicle mitigation and perimeter protection, offering enhanced security for both public and private sector partners.
