The Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE) Traffic Signs Conference and Exhibition returns in November this year under the theme of ‘creating safer roads and quality neighbourhoods’.
Supported by the Department for Transport (DfT), the conference has been the foremost event for traffic signing professionals for over a generation.
This year, it will focus on the role signs and markings play in implementing road safety and environmental schemes such as school streets, low traffic neighbourhoods and 20mph speed limits.
Speakers will cover updated guidance on roadworks and the Know Your Traffic Signs document, revised regulations for private level crossings, the benefits of manufacturing signs within a social enterprise, and carbon savings in road markings.
Signing checks and changes needed for introducing Moving Traffic Enforcement will also be covered from an authority perspective.
Simon Morgan, who chairs the IHE panel for the event, said: 'This is the main forum by which DfT and the industry communicate, and is a must for all those involved in the design, specification, manufacture or enforcement of traffic signs, highway engineers, urban designers, town centre managers.'
There will be an exhibition area, and every delegate will receive a printed copy of the latest IHE Sign Structures Guide.
The event will be taking place in central Birmingham on Wednesday 6 November at the Park Regis.
