New surfacing guide launched

The Road Surface Treatments Association (RSTA) has launched a definitive industry guide to a variety of surfacing techniques that are used to maintain the highway network.
Produced in conjunction with Highways Magazine, the Road Surface Treatments Handbook is intended as a quick user-friendly reference document for use by anyone involved with treating and maintaining roads.

RSTA chief executive Howard Robinson said: “The main purpose of this handbook is to provide a quick and easy reference guide to help anyone involved in highway maintenance and asset management to more fully appreciate the range of techniques now available, where they can be used and what they have to offer.”

Highways Magazine editor Alec Peachey added: “We were honoured to be asked to produce this guide on behalf of the RSTA. The content that can be found in this guide was originally published in the magazine, but to have it available in one place will be of great benefit to the industry. It is important that this type of information is shared with the industry more widely and that it can be used for years to come.”
