Ringway retains Worcestershire highways contract

Ringway has retained its highways maintenance service contract with Worcestershire County Council.

The contract is estimated to be worth between £20 and £30 million a year.

Ringway Worcester, working on behalf of Worcestershire Highways, has been operating the current highways and vehicle maintenance contract since 2005.

The new combined highways maintenance service contract will see Ringway delivering highways maintenance for the county’s 4,061km of roads, 3,250km of footways, 1,330 bridges and structures, 105,150 drainage gullies, as well as road signs, road markings, cyclical maintenance and winter service delivery. In addition, Ringway will manage and maintain the council’s fleet of vehicles.

The new contract will officially start in April 2014 and will run for an initial term of six and a half years. During the contract period, Ringway we will have the opportunity to be issued with additional years of tenure (up to a maximum six years) through maintaining performance at predetermined levels.
