Eurovia subsidiary South West Highways is in line to carry out minor highways improvement works across Devon after securing a place on all six lots of a county council framework worth up to £20m.
The firm said it was especially proud to have been able to maintain a place on the new framework, having successfully delivered many schemes through the council’s former Minor Works Framework, including Countess Weir (pictured) and the Teign Estuary Viaduct.
SWH’s successful bid covered six lots on the local authority’s Framework for Minor Engineering Works. Local SME Devon Tarmasters also won a place on each of the six area lots.

The pre-construction team put in an enormous amount of effort and have achieved a place on each and every Lot.
‘It is fantastic news for our delivery teams and we very much look forward to entering into a formal agreement with Devon County Council.’
The contract notice states that an as yet unknown number of scheme will have estimated values from £10,000 up to £500,000 or £1m as appropriate. The types of works include footways, cycle routes, bus priorities, pedestrian crossings, traffic calming and works to recycling centres. Structural work, such as retaining walls and bridge deck repair, may also be included.
It is anticipated that the framework, which has a total value £20m, will commence on 1 April 2018 and will operate for a period of four years.
SWH was formed in 1995 by Colas Ltd and Eurovia UK Ltd specifically to win the Devon CC highways contract, which it then held for more than 20 years. On 1st February 2018 Eurovia UK assumed full ownership of the firm.
