Toppesfield wins £10m resurfacing contract

Toppesfield has been awarded a £10m contract by Costain Carillion JV to provide upgrade works on the M1 for Highways England.

The project, which is expected to run for 18 months, will see Toppesfield carry out all road surfacing on the A5 M1 Link project just north of Dunstable. It involves the construction of an entirely new link road between the A5 and the M1, as well as a new M1 junction (J11a), south of Chalton.

The works will form part of Highways England’s Major Improvements Investment Programme, which will see £12bn invested in England’s road network over the next five years.
